  • What are the services and specialties?

Lakewood Counseling offers both individual counseling and couples counseling.

Our main specialties are relationship issues, adult ADHD, anxiety, depression, stress management, personal development, and recovery from past struggles.

If you are dealing with any of these, reach out to us, and we can do a free 15-minute consultation to show you how we can work together and find solutions.

  • Who is Jason Joseph?

Jason grew up in West Texas and spent his early years exploring computer programming, music, and a number of volunteer opportunities.

This volunteer work led him to pursue clinical counseling as a profession, and he has since worked in the fields of domestic violence, sexual assault, couples and family counseling, military counseling, corporate supervision, and more.

Jason believes it is vitally important that all counseling be a safe place for anyone, regardless of their background or situation.

  • How do I find out if you service my area?

While Lakewood Counseling started out in the Lakewood / White Rock Lake area of Dallas, we are now utilizing our virtual counseling capability to service clients all over Texas!

All that is needed is an internet connection or a phone. In-person sessions are not available at the moment, but we will provide updates when this changes. Please stay safe.

  • Do you offer a consultation before a session?

Yes! We offer a free 15-minute phone or video consultation, so you can see if our services will be a fit for your needs.

Fill out the ‘Free Consultation’ form on the site, or you can give us a call, and we can schedule a date to set that up.

  • Are the therapy sessions confidential?

    Yes, they are completely confidential.

As professional counselors, we believe that confidentiality is one of the most important components between a client and their therapist.

Therapy requires a high level of trust in order to be successful. What you discuss in your sessions will not be shared with anyone without your written permission (to update your physician, attorney, etc.) State law and professional ethics require therapists to break confidentiality in the following situations: Suspected past or present abuse or neglect of children, adults, and elders to the authorities, including Child Protection and law enforcement, based on information provided by the client or collateral sources.

If the therapist has reason to suspect the client is seriously in danger of harming him/herself, or has threatened to harm another person, the therapist may need to break confidentiality for safety reasons.

  • What is teletherapy?

Teletherapy is the delivery of therapy and counseling services via video conferencing.

Teletherapy is slowly becoming more popular amongst clients. Teletherapy has allowed us to deliver quality services to clients in the comforts of their homes. This can potentially eliminate some of the reluctance people feel when seeking out a therapist.

Teletherapy has also allowed us to improve access to care. You no longer have to worry about traffic or driving long distances to get the care you deserve.

If you live in a small community or are unable to find a provider near you that is covered by your insurance, teletherapy could potentially be a great option for you.

We currently offer teletherapy to clients across all of Texas. Your safety is our top priority.

We follow all HIPAA Privacy and Security guidelines. Contact us today to find out more about teletherapy.
